Vision Statement
Protect the lake and its shore
to enhance water quality for the benefit
of all present and future aquatic life and users of the lake.
Develop an active and distinct waterfront
that promotes and positions the Village of Cayuga
as a unique waterfront destination in the Finger Lakes Region.
Enhance the recreational experience
so that the Village of Cayuga is known as the premier access location
to the northern end of Cayuga Lake for all types of users.
Goals
1. Enhance the park and recreation experience of the Village of Cayuga.
2. Establish a unique waterfront tourist destination by capitalizing on the distinctive history of the Village, and by providing improved physical and visual access to the waterfront, including formal access to the former Cayuga-Seneca Canal breakwater pier.
3. Seek funding, partnerships, and programming to combat harmful algal blooms, invasive species, and general environmental quality issues adversely affecting the waterfront.
4. Encourage and focus development in areas that are zoned for mixed-uses in order to serve residents and visitors of the Village.
5. Sustainably invest in infrastructure that supports the needs of an affordable, growing community of families in the Village, and seek funding and partnerships to maintain this infrastructure.
